Programs at Canada Star Secondary School

Secondary School Academic Program:

Canada Star Secondary School provides British Columbia Ministry of Education accredited classes on weekdays from 9:00am to 3:20pm during the school year. Following 3:20pm, they offer additional academic and tutorial classes as an option to enhance students’ abilities and ensure their academic success.

Dual Credit Program:

Canada Star Secondary School and Kwantlen Polytechnic University have joined forces to establish a Dual Credit program. Dual credit implies that the credits earned at Kwantlen Polytechnic University can be applied towards both high school graduation requirements and future post-secondary education. This opportunity enables students to enroll in one or more university-level courses at a KPU Campus (Richmond or Surrey) during their grade 12 year in high school.

Advanced Placement Program:

The Advanced Placement Program (AP), administered by the College Board, allows motivated and academically ready high school students to engage in college-level coursework. By participating in AP, students have the chance to earn college credit, advanced placement, or both. AP Exams are conducted annually in May, and achieving a score of 3 or higher on an AP Exam usually grants students college credit and/or admission to higher-level courses in college.

Canada Star Secondary School offers a distinctive Top University Bridge Program, designed to go beyond academics and prioritize the holistic development of students.
